First Week Favorites!

This week was back to school and oh was it a busy week.  These are some of my favorites from the week.

Back to School Night

On Monday, we had Back to School Night.  I love all the different ideas there are for back to school.  I used my back to school pamphlet and I also created some goodies for my littles.

I created and gave each student these, re"MARK"able tags.  This is a great way to give each student a gift and not have to spend a lot of money.

I also made them goodie bags.  I put a pencil, pencil sharpener, and a box of crayons in each  bag.  I bought my bags from Target.  Have I told you how much I love their Dollar Spot?!! I created the pencil tags using Melonheadz Clips

The First Day of School

I always forget how little first graders are when they start school.  I love taking pictures of my students and providing parents with a first day of school photo.

I found a cute, "first day of school" chalkboard from Target.  My favorite part of the chalkboard is the section that asks them what they want to be when they grow-up. I told my littles to think about what they want to be. I didn't give them any suggestions because I really wanted it to be authentic.  Boy, it WAS!!! Their responses were doctors, nurses, chefs, police officers, teachers, firefighters, and one student said she wants to be a model.  This really is my FAVORITE first week memory.

I put their pictures on our smile wall.  I keep these pictures up all year.  I just love to see how much they have grown by the time the year is over.

Engage NY Math

Our school uses Engage NY for math.  This week we worked on number bonds and identifying the part, part, whole.  While I was walking around I noticed one student had labeled his part, part, whole on his number bond.  I just loved this!!!

Kagan Structures

This summer I attended the Kagan Structures Seminar.  I really loved their strategies and structures.  I decided that this year I was going to focus on the hands up, stand up, pair up structure.  This is our first week of practice but I have to say they are doing pretty good :)

Writing and Craft

I love having my littles write. It's awesome seeing their growth at the end of the year.  This week we wrote about, what we're most excited about for first grade.  Their ideas were pretty funny!! Many of them wrote they are most excited about playing on the big playground structure (this just cracks me up).

You know we have to create a craft to accompany our writing.  This craft is from the amazing FirstGradeBlueSkies.  I just love her crafts and packets.  The writing pages are also from her pack.  Their buses turned out very cute and my classroom is really looking like a 'classroom' with crafts and writing hanging.

YAY it's FRIDAY!!!

If you know me, you know I L-O-V-E my coffee.  Friday's are treat day and I pick up a coffee from Dutch Bros.  I don't know if you've every had Dutch Bros. but let me tell you, it's AhhhMazing!!!  I actually thought my lid was very fitting for my week... "Get Up Early, Stay Up Late, CHANGE THE WORLD." Isn't this the life of a teacher?!

Well that's it for today.  I'm exhausted and ready to enjoy my weekend!! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Five For Friday... Classroom Decor

It's that time to link up for Five for Friday!  This week was back to school for me.  No kids yet but a lot of meetings and professional development.  Yesterday, we had time to setup our rooms and I finished setting up today (HAPPY DANCE)!!!

Here are some areas of my room I just love!!!

Here is my Back to School Door!! I got the idea from Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd Grade.  I just love it!! The Kidlettes are from Melonheadz and the Composition Notebook clip is a freebie from Little Lady Violet.

Here is my classroom library and my "smile" wall.  This is one of my favorite spaces in my room.  The "smile" banner is from Target.  Gotta love the Dollar Spot!!!  My marquee letter is from Joann's.  My table is from IKEA.   I bought my chalk paint for the table top and table at Walmart.  My book bins are from Dollar Tree.  I spray painted those turquoise because they only had red when I went to buy them.  My bulletin board paper is from GW School Supply.

One the first day of school I will take pictures of my students and these photos will  be displayed on my "smile" wall.

These are my morning work binders and students pencil boxes.  {If you didn't notice, I'm a bit obsessed with Melonheadz Clips.  I just love her items.} I hope they love their binders as much as I do.  My name plates are from my TPT Store.  I have many different styles and they are all editable.  If you like the name plates click here

This is my back  to school pamphlet that I created for Back to School Night.  I am going to print mine in color and also print them in English and Spanish.  You can purchase this editable pamphlet in my TPT Store.  Just click on the picture below :)

My last item to share are my Blooms Taxonomy Posters.  I created these to remind my students and myself of the Blooms Levels.  You can also find these in my TPT Store.  Just click on the picture below.

Well that is it for today.  This teacher is tried and has lots to get done here at home.  I'm back to school on Monday.  Thank you for stopping by!!
